Community Computing or FreeNets

FreeNets are affordable, public-access, community-based, electronic information systems designed to meet the information needs and expectations of the community. FreeNets are built on the community service model.

EASTMAN Community Computing Inc. is incorporated as a not for profit community service organization. Voting control resides with the members of the EASTMAN FreeNet.

What exactly is the FreeNet?

Membership applications are available online if you click here.  Or, you can contact our secretary:

John Walker - Secretary, Treasurer
(mailing address: Box 612, Pinawa, MB, R0E 1L0)
walkerj@eastman.freenet.mb.ca
phone # 753-2571

A donation of $60 per year is suggested to offset the substantial cost of operating the FreeNet.

Many Internet information resources are currently available from the FreeNet menus. In the past, the Freenet took on the responsibility of creating the informational web-pages itself.  Today, with so many local people creating such web-pages, our main goal is to keep up with providing links to all the pages that are out there in the Eastman region.
